CHARACTERISTICS OF LEADERSHIP & LEADERSHIP ESSENTIALS
Developing leadership skills is essential with all employees. Leadership begins with self-leadership by accepting responsibility & decision-making; small group leadership & participation as the immediate group engages participatively; and organizationally through positional management & leadership. We teach a model of leadership called servant-leadership, shown to grow healthy employees, healthy environments and increase the outcomes on the people being served.
In this 8-hour session, participants will be introduced to leadership that begins with self-leadership and taking responsibility of one's actions through transformational leadership characteristics and organizational change. We'll end the day with Servant-Leadership and an introduction to a paradigm of leadership that seeks to transform both the individual and organizational team as a whole through a greater commitment to caring and teamwork.
EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT FOR PEDIATRICS AND SPECIAL NEEDS ORGANIZATIONS
An engaged employee is one who is fully involved in and enthusiastic about their work and will serve in a way that benefits the organizations interests. According to Gallup: 30% of employees are engaged in their work; 50% of employees are disengaged; and 20% are actively disengaged (meaning they actively speak negatively about their employer, are toxic or create a toxic work environment.
In this 8-hour workshop, participants will learn about Employee Engagement, learn the risks and signs of burnout and depression and discover ways to care not only for oneself but for the team as a whole.
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE (EQ) FOR PEDIATRICS AND SPECIAL NEEDS ORGANIZATIONS
EQ is critical to both an individual's success, teamwork and the organization as a whole. We all have worked with or experienced a "toxic" person and quite often we hope this person leaves before the organization goes under. This customized training on EQ provides experiential learning opportunities for participants to learn about EQ and start on a path towards whole hearted service. Benefits of increasing our EQ include better professional relationships, increased personal effectiveness, better self management with negative emotions, improved leadership capability.
There are as much as five generations in the workforce today:
Matures (born before 1945)
Boomers (born 1945-1964)
Generation X (1965-1980), Millennials (1980-2000) and the
"Z" generation (born 2000+ - emerging 16-17 year olds).
Every generation has distinct characteristics based on cultural life events that have shaped their worldview(s). If left unrecognized, the generational diversity of teams will impact the performance of the team.
In this fun, team building eight-hour training, employees will learn about the five generations currently in the workforce and ways to engage with people different from oneself. The topic is on generational diversity with content easily transferrable to cultural competency studies.

As medical professionals, social workers, therapists and educators many of us have entered into this work to make profound social change. We both model and teach Presencing, a tool to help both the individual, the team and the organization as a whole identify voices of fear, voices of judgment & voices of cynicism within the workplace to work through barriers to employment and team success in order to thrive.
