Founder & CEO
Katie Reginato Cascamo founded Courageous Steps high in the mountains in a snowy blizzard being airlifted in critical condition. Her critical airlift team rescued her from a hospital low in patient experience scores to an award-winning Children’s Miracle Network regional hospital. The courageous steps of her airlift team led her to discover the importance of effective- and -ineffective healthcare operations on the life of a patient. The birth of Katie’s son, Giovanni, 2 ½ months premature at 2 ½ pounds introduced her to some of the most profoundly relational, servant-leaders with a desire to serve. Through lived experiences, Katie discovered that healthcare organizations needed a management and leadership professional who knew how to guide those who cared for others through lived experience. With more than 15-years of business development, human resources, workforce development, change management, training and development, Katie’s unique skillset and personal experiences positioned her to do just that – strategically guide organizations whose mission is to care for others. Katie holds a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership with a Concentration in Servant-Leadership and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Leadership Studies at Gonzaga University. Katie’s research focuses on the role of leadership and staff well-being, specifically on healthcare outcomes that stress a more caring and just organization through a Servant-Leadership approach.
